Tom has been a part of the art community for more than twenty years. As owner of T Joseph Clifton Gallery, he has previously limited his creation of original works of art to commissioned pieces. In addition, Tom has been featured in various publications, including Veranda magazine, for his expertise in custom and museum (conservation) framing. He also serves as a resident art interpreter for WKNO’s annual art auction. His work has achieved national and international attention including HGTV and galleries in the Caribbean. Tom’s commercial and residential installations are featured in the mid-south as well as Aspen, Los Angeles, Boston, Atlanta and St. John. Tom’s current focus on sculpted, textural abstracts is influenced by global and environmental diversity. The organic nature of each piece’s construction comes not only from the multiple mediums used, but the patterns developed during the process of building multiple layers of textures and colors. Having grown up along the Louisiana coast, many of his paintings have been influenced by the bayous. Now with increasing time on St. John, he also is drawing his inspiration from the beauty surrounding the Virgin Islands. |
