Why You Should Choose Us for Custom Framing in Memphis
1. We handle your project personally.
We love our business and take the ultimate pride in reflecting who we are in the custom framing we create for you. With more than 35 years in the business, our advice comes from experience and a wide range of knowledge of all types of frames.
Most importantly, everything is completed at the gallery. We do not send out your custom framing project to a warehouse or third party to complete. Everything remains at the gallery and is protected.
2. We will not oversell you.
If your framing calls for museum glass, we will tell you this. However, conservation glass is often what an archival project requires. We will quote you what is best for the project and discuss why we recommend the glass, mat, and frame that we do.
3. We will listen to what you like and do not like.
It is important that your custom framing reflect you and your design style. We always say, "Frame the art versus the room, and it will all come together." At the same time, we want your framed pieces to enhance your home or office and to reflect you. Our design expertise will ensure this occurs.
4. We will guide and not overwhelm you.
We will provide you with choices and help you navigate through the decision making; however, we will not overwhelm you nor intimidate you.
With the largest selection of mouldings in Memphis, the task of selecting the right option for your custom framing project may seem overwhelming. It isn't. With our years of expertise, we know how to leverage our wide selection to find the best two or three options for you.
Who Is Tom Clifton?
For more than 35 years, Tom has specialized in custom framing in the greater Memphis area. During this time, he has framed priceless artifacts from the Titanic, Bronze Stars of military veterans, works from the masters such as Miro and O'Keeffe and fine art photography from Eggleston and others.
Tom's special expertise is two-fold. His experience has perfected his technical knowledge of custom framing, while his artistic eye for design has been honed from his own experiences as a painter. This special combination of skills enhances what you plan to frame. Mat colors, design, and moulding will be recommended based on what enhances the items you have to frame, as well as your personal tastes.
Tom began his framing career in 1982 when he joined what was then H & N Arts and Frames. After apprenticing for two years, he bought the business. While the locations have changed, Tom's commitment to an honest recommendation and artistic design has not. This is why now, nearly forty years later, he is proud to be custom framing works for multi-generations of family members.
