For more than 35 years, T Clifton has been helping Memphis families preserve the things that are most important to them. Our projects include art and memorabilia framing, corporate art consulting and custom mirrors. We are your frame shop if any of these are important to you:

  • Experiencing the utmost care and concern about your framing needs.
  • Trusting your family treasures to be framed by a master framer who will protect your items.
  • Finding a unique option for your framing needs.
  • Working with a custom framer who is also the owner of the business and will personally guarantee the work.

We are conveniently located in midtown Memphis, where you'll not only find convenience, but also unparalleled service and the largest selection of picture frame mouldings in town. Service, selection, and location – a winning combination.

Why You Should Choose Us for Custom Framing

  • 1. We handle your project personally.

We love our business and take the ultimate pride in reflecting who we are in the framing we create for you. With more than 35 years in the business, our advice comes from experience and a wide range of knowledge of all types of frames.

Most importantly, everything is completed at the gallery. We do not send out your framing project to a warehouse or third party to complete. Everything remains at the gallery and is protected.

  • 2. We will not oversell you.

If your framing calls for museum glass, we will tell you this. However, conservation glass is often what an archival project requires. We will quote you what is best for the project and discuss why we recommend the glass, mat, and frame that we do.

  • 3. We will listen to what you like and do not like.

It is important that your framing reflect you and your design style. We always say, “frame the art versus the room, and it will all come together.” At the same time, we want your framed pieces to enhance your home or office and to reflect you. Our design expertise will ensure this occurs.

  • 4. We will guide and not overwhelm you.

We will provide you with choices and guide you through the decision making; however, we will not overwhelm you nor intimidate you. With the largest selection of mouldings in Memphis, the task of selecting the right option for your framing project may seem overwhelming. It isn’t. With our years of expertise, we know how to leverage our wide selection to find the best two or three options for you.

I grew up going to Tom's gallery with my mother and as an adult I still love to go to the gallery to get all of my framing done or even just to pop in and visit. Tom's work is beautifully done and perfectly crafted for each piece of work, each client and for each space.

Who Is Tom Clifton?

For more than 35 years, Tom has specialized in custom framing the greater Memphis area. During this time, he has framed priceless artifacts from the Titanic, Bronze Stars of military veterans, works from the masters such as Miro and O’Keeffe and fine art photography from Eggleston and others.

Tom’s special expertise is two-fold. His experience has perfected his technical knowledge of custom framing, while his artistic eye for design has been honed from his own experiences as a painter. This special combination of skills enhances what you plan to frame. Mat colors, design, and moulding will be recommended based on what enhances what you have to frame, as well as your personal tastes.

Tom began his framing career in 1982 when he joined what was then H & N Arts and Frames. After apprenticing for two years, he bought the business. While the locations have changed, Tom’s commitment to an honest recommendation and artistic design has not. This is why now, nearly forty years later, he is proud to be framing works for multi-generations of family members.
