Fine art glass artist Carole Perry’s tapestries showcase both texture and fine artisan skill.
She utilizes the kiln to complete her “weaving” process. Carole’s one of a kind art sculptures incorporate more than 9,000 strands of glass. She incorporate both color and clear glass, forming several layers of glass thread. Through her process, she carefully monitors the temperature in the kiln to bring the thread to a sticky – but to molten – state. This precise temperature allows her to maintain the texture of the glass threads. Once it reaches this state, she has approximately 10 seconds to form the shape of the piece and move it to a slow cooling chamber.
Carole’s glass sculptures are on exhibit at our art gallery in Memphis.
